It has since been stated that Dio Guardi helped judge Steven Tyler become a judge on American Idol, after they worked together at Dio Guardi's house in Los Angeles.
She has had Idol connections in the past: in 2000, Dio Guardi and former Idol judge Paula Abdul co-wrote the UK number-one single "Spinning Around", performed by Kylie Minogue.
